Happy birthday to all of you born in September! Your birthstone is sapphire which brings protection, good fortune and spiritual insight. In the ancient and medieval world, it was a symbol of power and strength, but also of kindness and wise judgment. Today sapphire is still a stone of wisdom and learning. It brings order and healing to the mind and helps with strength and focus.

Sapphire is one of my absolute favorite gemstones. I am intrigued both by its healing properties as well as its rich, deep color. It always speaks to me. So – sapphire is definitely my jam, and it make me a bit jealous of you September people!

Sapphire will help you to stay on your spiritual path and assist you in staying on task. This could be daily routine tasks or actions that require a lot of focus. During times of change, it will help you to create a clear vision of where you want to go and how to get there. Clearly, I should be wrapping myself in this stone on the daily to bring some clarity to the thoughts that for most of the time, run around with no structure in my head.

Sapphire is also a symbol of integrity and was traditionally worn when treaties and deals were made back in the old historic days. Remember to wear or carry even a small piece of it when you are negotiating or signing contracts for yourself or on someone else’s behalf. It could be what makes the difference!

The sapphire is a very hard stone. It is second in hardness only to the diamond. Because of its unique durability, it is commonly used in some non-jewelry applications such as in bearings, wrist watch crystals and high durability windows.

Also, apart from its well-known blue color, the sapphire comes in a variety of other colors such as pink, green, orange, yellow and purple. The only color it doesn’t have is red. Sapphires comes from the mineral corundum and red corundum is called ruby. So sapphires and rubies are cousins!
